did anyone use Samsungs The Frame together with MM?

From what I had read the TV sounds like a good solution for my dashboard screen idea. My MM will be 80% of the time show all my pictures and 20% of the time weather, news and calendar.

It will not have a mirror and sit in the living room.

Happy to get any feedback from you.

Great thx Samsung. Now I have to find out when this option is available. I’m not really willing to spend 500€ for a picture frame. Then I can rather buy a monitor and have a nice wooden frame built by a carpenter.

I did not find this option as a setting on my Frame (latest Firmware). Unfortunately, I also can‘t test this because I don’t have a Anynet device

Following the comments in your link, Samsung has made it possible by a firmware update.

Maybe @<bdi>Jalibu</bdi> can double-check the behavior.

that is a good question…

looks like not
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/QLED-and-The-Frame/Feature-Request-CEC-Anynet-options-to-prevent-Frame-switching/td-p/1287539

looks like if u turn it off with CEC then its ‘off’, not frame mode

But do not know if it works that way. Or if I just take a normal monitor and have a frame built.

I have a precursor to the frame, 82in samsung with the external hdmi ports… MM works fine over hdmi
(google ChromeCast does the same thing)

haha, of course it works with HDMI ;-)

But I think this question is about Samsung The Frame specific features and not TVs in general 🙃

HDMI signal is an HDMI signal. TV doesn’t know what is being displayed

I have a Samsung the Frame, but you can only display photos in the power-saving Art Mode and not a browser. This is also not possible in Ambient Mode.

Samsung’s tizen os has sonehow outdated chromium, so some of modern 3rd party modules might not work, but I think default modules ok.
