Display Controller has strange behaviour
I hope someone can help and it is simple a stupid issue by myself.
Roughly two weeks ago my mirror stopt working. I identified that the power supply was broken and ordered a new one (12V/2A) - same figures as I the old one.
After receiving it the mirror was still not working. To be more detailed:
The power supply goes in the display controller and feeds the Pi via USB.
The last part is working, so the Pi is working.
But the display itself is not starting up.
I put the cable in and out and tried different stuff and surprisingly it worked for a short period. Next time I inserted the power supply it was not working anymore.
My first guess was I need a more powerful supply (12V/3A) as this is recommended for the display controller. Ordered, delivered, same problem.
Next guess was that the display controller is broken too, maybe related to the broken power supply I identified in the begin of the journey.
So I ordered the same display controller, only in a newer/improved version. The layout is slightly different.
Now I have the problem that the new display controller board is not even starting up when putting in the power supply.
So long story short:
- I have a working power supply of 12V/3A
- I have two display controller boards from which only the old one starts up
Can it really be that simple that the new display controller board is already broken before first use?
Or are the other possibilities/things I can check out to get my mirror working again?
Doesn’t matter if with the old or new display controller.
If you need more info about the display controller or even pictures I am happy to share them if it will help.
Thanks in advance!
