After working for some time, I finally eliminated the random PIR triggering by using doorbell wire wrapped in aluminum foil to extend the distance between the PIR and the Pi itself. I’m happy with the build. and would only change a couple of things. Next time, I will probably get the microwave motion sensors, and I’ll definitely use a real glass mirror as the acrylic mirror already has some minor scratches.

I got the bend mostly fixed by adding supports that ran the length and width of the frame. It’s still nowhere near as perfect as glass would be. This was mainly a proof of concept, so I know what tweaks to make when it comes time to build another.

The acrylic is showing just a slight amount of bend, but only just. I think you did quite well.

That’s what I meant by “hide or disguise”. I put a bookcase under this one and a toy bear to hide the little bit of power cord that was still exposed.

Location and the layout of what’s on the other side of the wall has kind of dictated the power cord dangling as it is, although we will use a plant stand and plant of some kind to at least make it less noticeable.

Nice, clean looking mirror. Lovely frame. (I’m partial to wood). I applaud your ingenuity in solving the PIR issue. Now, hide or disguise the power cord and you’ll be golden.
