I had my raspberry pi working with the OS and MM functioning pretty nicely. I had it turned off for a few weeks as I was busy with other things. This morning I turn it on and as it boots up the MM splash screen is displayed then goes away and all I have now is a command line prompt. Initially it instructed me to change my pi password which I did. I also went into the config screen and selected Desktop Auto login. But I still get the command line prompt and can’t even get to the desktop.

When the pi$ prompt is displayed I can enter startx and the desktop comes up then MM starts. Why am I having to enter startx? Never had to before.
