@drx1984 - Yeah, I can. It’s on the list of projects. I don’t know when I’ll get to it. For you I’ll bump it up the priority list a bit. But I don’t have an estimate.

the IntelNuc is powerful enough, right?
I don’t think so. It’s the MMM-Globe module. It’s pure javascript and doesn’t make use of the graphics hardware at all. You might get away with turning off the MMM-Rain and running just the globe module. Might.
I really should get around to rewriting it.

RE: MMM-DWD-Pollen
@Klinge - It appears that your problem isn’t the same. @Sachse had two instances of the Magic Mirror framework running at the same time. You probably don’t have that problem.
The DWD site appears to be up and is hosting a json file. So let’s start at the beginning. Please post the relevant portion of your
config.js
file. We don’t need everything, just the part that configures the MMM-DWD-Pollen module. That will let us try and replicate your problem. Be sure to use the Markdown features when you post your code snippet! -
RE: ISS tracker
@karsten13 - I don’t know which map framework you’re running, but I’ve been using Leaflet and it gives me a lot of flexibility in maps. Several free tile sources and many more that just require an API key. You can see a simple example at my MMM-Birdnet module. Specifically, check out the map options.

RE: Flapper display that pulls from a csv file
@onetwankyfive This is on my long-term list of projects. I want to integrate a flapper display into the MMM-WeasleyClock module as an alternate display mode.
I’ve played around with it a little. Part of it is the plan to replace the jquery code with CSS interactions. Other projects have taken up my time. But it is on the list of things to do. Eventually.

RE: Endpoint/Midpoint as part of project
From the SparkFun website: “All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector.”

RE: MMM-Globe rotates very slowly and haltingly
@sdetweil Huh. Well, that’s new. If I ever get around to making the hardware accelerated version I’ll give it a go.

RE: Mirror for a Charity Auction
@sdetweil Now this sounds interesting. Do you have tutorial or URL where I can learn how to set this up?

So is there no other solution than replacing the Raspberry Pi and getting one with a higher CPU?
You could finish what I started. Write a module that uses the 3d-accelerated globe libraries. There’s already a project out there that has the hexagon look & feel.
You’ll have to reconfigure your mirror to use Chromium in kiosk mode to display your mirror, rather than the default Electron (Electron does not support hardware acceleration). That’s not difficult at all. It’s just command line arguments. That should work on an RPi.

RE: Mirror for a Charity Auction
@Tippon Yeah, that’s pretty much it. The mirror attempts to connect to my command & control server at DNS entry that I control. When it connects, it establishes a reverse SSH connection. I can ride that reverse SSH connection down into the mirror. The C&C server is cloud based, so I just turn it off whenever I don’t need to connect to the mirrors.
Because it’s the mirror making the outgoing connection, firewalls let it pass by. All the mirror needs is a connection to the internet.
I have a pretty long tutorial on how to set it up. I’m a bit verbose.
