RE: List of Modules with "Last Update" date
@spospordo looks like there is a github api where u can get the last committed date for a repo…(using the default branch)
for example using my SampleModule repo
curl -s "https://api.github.com/repos/sdetweil/SampleModule/commits" | jq -r '.[0].commit.committer.date'
produces
2020-04-30T16:39:25Z
and there is a SEARCH API where i ‘think’ one could automate finding repos whose names match a pattern (you can do it online) “mmm-* language:Javascript” (returns 171 repos)
so, it sounds like a fun project for someone
or, one could screen scrape the 3rd party list, and get the repo owners and names and get the latest commit date

RE: Default Weather Module Multiple Instances for Diff Locations
@kayakbabe the easiest way is to assign a ‘class’ to each module on a page
page1
page2
page3
etcthen use the classname as the thing in the pages config
modules: [ [ 'page1' ], [ 'page2' ], [ 'page3' ] ]
in each module definition
module: ‘weather’,
classes:‘page1’,etc

RE: MMM-RFID and MMM-Profileswitcher with RC522
@kavilan said in MMM-RFID and MMM-Profileswitcher with RC522:
MMM-RFID
did u do the steps in the doc to program the rfid tag?
-
RE: MMM-RFID and MMM-Profileswitcher with RC522
@kavilan ok, the just send a notice that an rfid was read…
open the developers window, ctrl-shift-i on the MM keyboard and
select the tab labeled consoleyou should be able to see the events being sent out
“RFID_UID”, payload
and
“RFID_DATA”, payloadand any events in the config events list

RE: MMM-PythonPrint customisation
@kayakbabe so , maybe your python script starts and runs, prints one line, and ends. current temp is x
is that all you want your module to present, one line?
or do you want the output every few seconds minutes
this is repetative:false, but my module will rerun the script every cycle time milliseconds
but some python scripts do that internally.
print, sleep, print, sleep, print, sleep, print…
this is repetative: true
my module will just start the python scriptthere are two different ways to capture the output
should have named parm
script_is_long_running
I provided a sample of each
also, in many cases, you are using someone else’s script and don’t have control over how it works, and don’t want to rewrite it
-
RE: MMM-RFID and MMM-Profileswitcher with RC522
@kavilan the code says it uses
python MFRC522-python/Dump.py
(from the module folder)to read the rfid chip on the pi

RE: MMM-GroveGestures -> ShellExec "Python script"
sorry, jumped too fast… you want to know HOW to launch
see my PythonPrint module which launches a python script …
https://github.com/sdetweil/MMM-PythonPrintwell. actually its probably the first…
https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/16554/mmm-pythonprint-customisation/2?_=1648232499718the gesture node_helper does exec
so the same command you would do from the commandline…
but python has trouble with libraries when invoked in the background…
