@dmcinnes It’s great that you’re experimenting with this in any case. Please let us know the outcome once the sensor has arrived.

RE: MMM-Wunderground - dates are off??
@amanzimdwini I see your point, I changed the config to start with the forecast for tomorrow as well, for the same reasons. Then I realized that after midnight the forecasts for the new day would not be shown, which I didn’t like, because the hourly forecasts only showed 1am, 4am, 7am and 10am, so I messed around with the source code so that it normally starts its forecasts with the weather tomorrow but between midnight and sunrise it still shows the forecast for the new day that is now day 0. After sunrise the first day that is shown in the forecast table is the next day. Not sure if I’m making any sense here :D

RE: MMM-Wunderground - dates are off??
@amanzimdwini Does it make a difference in your forecast texts when you set fcdaystart = ‘1’?
What you see should be the forecast text for the current conditions outside, no matter what day your forecasts start on. -
RE: Adjusting monitor brigthtness level via software
@KirAsh4 Sorry to hear that. All the best for you.

@KirAsh4 Well, if you ever feel like experimenting, let me know :)

RE: Adjusting monitor brigthtness level via software
@KirAsh4 That would indeed be a great solution. Will ask one of my friends to have a look into that, maybe he can tap into the brightness settings this way.
As I don’t have my mirror put together at this stage (It’s just a screen attached to a Pi), have you tried lowering the brightness at night so that only the text is visible but not the screen? So what I’m asking is: is controlling the screen brightness the key to hiding the screen at night or does the text become illegible if we do that?

RE: PIR sensor behind glass?
@dmcinnes Thanks for your link, I’m using a radar module in a Pi-independent LED lighting control unit that a friend of mine put together (So I have no clue how his circuits actually work, but they do and that’s great :D), which is why my first impulse was to use a radar motion detector as well.
I couldn’t find any that operated within the voltage specifications of the PI’s pins. Your link lists a working voltage range of 5.5 - 18 V DC, but the Pi only offers 5 V DC, doesn’t it?
So are you planning on using an external power source for your module?

RE: Weatherunderground - currently - hourly - daily - configurable
@RedNax Thanks, my head certainly felt like it had been occupied with occult practices when I was done :D

RE: Adjusting monitor brigthtness level via software
@KirAsh4 My problem isn’t the brightness of the text but the brightness of its background (i.e. the screen) as this can be seen at night when there’s very little light inside the room the mirror is in.

RE: Weatherunderground - currently - hourly - daily - configurable
@RedNax I managed to parse my way through it with some crazy regex stuff a few days ago (As this is the first time I have done this, it took me an insane amount of time to add the degree symbol only where it should be added), I know I keep saying this, but I will eventually push it to my MMM-WunderGround fork and then you can decide which of my features you would like to implement.
