Just updated Mirror, now mirror will not work.
-
@nneuland well, there are others reporting similar problems…
not sure what the problem is yet
-
Ohhhh no. Ok. At least I’m not going mad alone. Thank you for letting me know
-
@nneuland but fresh install doesn’t seem to have the problem…
use my script, it never fails…
rename the existing MagicMirror folder
then run the install script.see https://github.com/sdetweil/MagicMirror_scripts
then u can copy your modules over and config.js from the renamed folder
-
Saved again by Sam/. Thank you so very much
-
@sdetweil I think I celebrated too early.
Very odd thing happening. I’ve lost all of my modules. Back to default. What in the world did I do now?
-
@nneuland did u copy your stuff over? from the old to the new? including config.js?
rename the new modules/default folder out of the way for the copy
then from the new modules folder
cp -r -p ~/Magicmirror-old/modules .then rm -rf default
and rename the saved default folder back -
yeah. Just getting a black screen and a cursor.
-
@nneuland black screen, look at the messages where u start MagicMirror
npm start
or pm2if pm2, then the pm2 logs --lines=100
will show the same messages -
you’re right
[09.07.2021 21:41.21.879] [ERROR] WARNING! Could not load config file. Starting with default configuration. Error found: Error: Cannot find module ‘request’

not sure why
-
@nneuland because request was removed in the latest release, as it has security issue that could not be fixed., and all users recommended to get on to something else ( aka deprecated)
in the short term
cd ~/MagicMirror
npm install request -
