MagicMirrorOS starts up with blank screen
-
So I have been having issues with installing MagicMirror software onto a Raspbian image, and I realised that MM has an OS. I downloaded the image, installed it and it comes up with a black screen. I can see a cursor when I move the mouse, but I cannot get on terminal, or make any setting configs. After months of trying to make my own magic mirror, I am about to give up and crawl into a corner and cry in a fetal position because I cannot find any solutions to my problems. Pls help!:crying_face: :crying_face: :crying_face:

@barenakedchicken why use mmOs? it runs docker on the os. just go straight,
https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspberry-pi-os/use my installer script
see
https://github.com/sdetweil/MagicMirror_scripts -
I have tried this, I cannot get docker to work, and if I am able to get docker to run at all on literally any OS, I can never get it to run any type of script at all.
-
@barenakedchicken don’t use docker.
etch the raw os from the link i posted
boot up
run my installer script
then u will be up and running

I have been at this for months. No script will run at all. I think it has something to do with my internet. But I am at my whits end. Scripts will not work no matter what tutorial I try to use. I have tried this script a couple times. Literally nothing is working. And I have reached out to buy an SD Card that someone has already created with Magic Mirror working and configured, but no one seems to want to sell one.

@barenakedchicken where r u located?
-
Ann Arbor, mi

@barenakedchicken and u have bad internet there? I am from farmington, a mere 30 miles east of you.
UofM should drag the best internet to your location.
everything MagicMirror requires internet

You’d think, but I live on a farm. As a network engineer, I have exhausted all possibilities of any kind of broadband and fibre service here. We have satellite on one side of the property and LTE on the other side. Satellite just sucks, and the LTE is at 1 bar.

@barenakedchicken satallite does suck for sure. suffered thru HughesNet for a year.
I can get u a configured SD Card but without network, your gonna be in the same boat, trying to add modules or get info downloaded.
