Two-Way Film Recommendations

Can you recommend a two-way film that has a high degree of reflectance for a Magic Mirror project? Please don’t tell me to get acrylic or “spy glass”. I already know that is better. My question is “Is there a two-way film that can be used that can pass for a mirror?” If one provides some good lighting from the front, can they then use it as a functioning mirror to do things like examine their face or apply makeup?

In addition, the film should ideally allow enough light from the monitor to pass through and be easily readable from the front. Most film seems to allow only about 5% of light to pass through. Is there any film that allows 10% of light to pass through?

Am I asking for too much?

Also, I live in the United States and would prefer to buy it from Amazon or some other online retail shop. I’ve seen companies that sell stuff for close to $200 for a roll, but that is too expensive for this project. I would like to spend less than $100 for this project and upgrade to glass later, if this works well.

@joeronimo I do not know the answer. I started down the path of film, and bought some, still standing in the hall closet.

everything I have read here and other places says the film turns out unsatisfactory. either application doesn’t work , or the color is wrong, tint.

I want to cover a 55in tv (maybe) glass is $1000 for the glass, and I can’t get it locally.
I have considered hiring window tint professionals to put the tint on something, but don’t know what.
glass that size is heavy.

so, currently I don’t have any shiny face on my mirrors… (just upgraded my 32 in to 43 (and 4k) to better show off my photos)

@joeronimo, I tried film but it didn’t work. Acceptable quality was with acrylic. Because the acrylic is quite thin and the reflected image was “in waves” I glued it on a thin glass and the reflection was much better. The next step was the mirror glass. Of course, the most successful mirror. It doesn’t make sense to spend money for components, frame and monitor but with film. The result will be unsatisfactory.
