Send Notifications from Linux/RPi Command Line

 Is there a module that will allow you to type a notifcation and payload into the linux command line and broadcast it to all of the mirror modules? If not, I would like to write one. What would be the architecture that I would need on the mirror side? Can I write a new module that listens on an external socket and connect to that socket with some command line program that I would code?

 @raspberrypi9 see MMM-CommandToNotification https://github.com/Tom-Hirschberger/MMM-CommandToNotification search the 3rd party list linked above in the top menu

 @raspberrypi9 yes, you can listen to socket, you can also read file. i think the one i suggested is not arbitrary timed event if you use the room prefix, you can use the same port as MagicMirror
-
 @raspberrypi9 on the other hand, if you make it post to url, then one could use curl to post it, you wouldn’t have to write a client post json { “notification”:“value”, “payload”:{ etc }}

 Sam, I love this! It is exactly what I was looking for and very useful. Thanks so much for making it!

 @raspberrypi9 i didn’t mean to steal your thunder tho

 @raspberrypi9 and curl can send a whole file of json, not just a short blob
