Had anyone got Magic Mirror working on an off the shelf smart mirror?

I’m just starting a Home Lab and someone suggested Magic Mirror as something that might interest me. I could build one myself but for now am interested in any of the shelf options.

I imagine most off the shelf smart mirrors are not suitable for one reason or another, so if any have been used with Magic Mirror it might be handy to have a list of hacked mirrors and a topic for each explaining how to get it working.

This topic can be used to get this started, or if it’s been done please post a link. Thanks

@magicbeing a normal mirror is not see thru, so you cannot do that.

you need a two way mirror, explicitly for this

see https://www.twowaymirrors.com/ for the technical info

@sdetweil there, interesting and useful link.

Aren’t (at least some) smart mirrors built with two way glass?

Either way, I’m looking to avoid building one myself. So if you know of a smart mirror kit or a product that can be modified that is really what I’m looking for.

@magicbeing I have never seen a ‘two way’ mirror at any store

@sdetweil try searching for smart mirror and click images. Seems like they are a thing.

@magicbeing I meant glass, which is what you asked for.
There are products that say smart mirror
