usb camera on magic mirror

hi,
i want to do something similar to camera module by alexyak (https://github.com/alexyak/camera ) but i don’t want it to be voice controlled. the camera can either be online all the time on the magic mirror or controlled with a button connected on gpio .

also, i want to have the camera preview a little bit larger. so how do i change the width and height of the camera image preview on the magic mirror.
