      Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on my MagicMirror setup for a while, but I keep hitting walls. I want it to do more than just show the date, weather, and news. Ideally, I’d love it to automate home devices, adjust the room temperature automatically, and give smart reminders. Right now, it feels static and I’m not sure where to start.

Has anyone faced similar challenges? What’s the best way to add real home automation features to a MagicMirror without making it too complicated? I’d really love to hear your experiences.

@aliansari MagicMirror is not an automation platform. It is a display platform.

I would recommend HomeAssistant for home automation. It is also free. I use it for my home automation my platform.

There are a couple modules that can extract info from HA and display it. You can use the search function in the 3rd party modules list.

@aliansari what do you mean by smart reminders?

You can customize the compliments module with a remote file that gets reloaded on some time cycle
