New 2-way mirror supplier - low prices and lead times
-
@tomster I am sure. It looks like this because I haven’t dismantled the monitor from the back so the light is not passing through all the way and actually the foil on the back is black, not white as the one used previously. The results IMHO are way better and closer to the look of a real mirror as you can see from the video.

OK, that sounds reasonable. Thank you for clarifying.
If you get the chance to come-by a sample (e.g. 100x100mm) , I’d be happy to order (=pay for) one of those. -
@ivanov_d count me in on one.
1,2m x 0,7m shipping to germany
On what basis do you need the input design for the laser cut foil?
Regards

@eldrik something like that would suffice:
As for the price, it would be:
- 2-way mirror with polished edges and laser cut foil as per your drawing, size 1.2x0.7 meters (0,84 sq. m): 251,16 EUR
- Shipping to Germany: between 31 and 40 EUR (I have to double check that for you)
-
@ivanov_d ok thx, I will create a drawing and send you a pm.

Hi @Ivanov_d, nice work on the mirror build. I’m about to begin on the hardware + mirror part of the project.
What’s the estimate shipping cost to Tx, USA? (Using the same dimensions of the mirror you have in your bathroom, I’m a fan of that size. https://youtu.be/wqJNxCwOmck) Thanks!
-
@bkost 0.8 x 0.73 (0.584 sq. m) would be $203 and the shipping would be $83. I am not sure about the import duties as I’ve never shipped a mirror overseas, however, I could declare a lower value.
-
@ivanov_d Thanks for the quote! With shipping cost, it’s a little out of my budget. I’ll see if I can manage to do a diy build. Thanks though!
-
@eldrik no worries. I am waiting.

Denis,
what is the lead time from ordering to actual shipping?
thx
Tom
