Vertical Magic Mirror with wooden Frame
-
Hi all!
Since we recently built our house, and we didnāt have a mirror where we could see ourselves, I decided to make it a magic mirror and sort of information hub for the family.
The mirror runs on an RPI4 8GB (first I tried it with an RPI3B+ but that turned out to be to slow) and an 17" laptop replacement screen. The mirror glas is 45cmx170cm and 4mm thick. I also added a lightsensor to control the brightness of the screen depending of how bright it is at home.
Used modules:
- clock
- calendar x 2: our family-google-calendar and an calendar with holidays
- weather
- MMM-DWD-Pollen: our son has a pollen allergy so to be prapared
- MMM-EmbedURL x 2: for the front IPTV Cam and the car information (is the car locked or open, total mileage and how many miles to go)
- MMM-Fuel: shows the cheapest gas station in a diameter of 5km from home
- MMM-MoonPhase: just because i like the looks of it
- MMM-DailyPokemon: for the kids ;)
- newsfeed: with two rss feeds
So thats how the thingy looks like:
And some pictures from the construction process:
Thanks for coming to my TED-talk ;)
cheers
