I’m based in the USA and I’m in the process of planning out my first build, and it’s turning out to be more expensive than I originally thought it would be. I’m fine with the technical side of the project, but I’m not very good when it comes to building out an actual frame.

Planning for a basic kitchen magic mirror that will use some default modules. Doesn’t need touchscreen or anything, but I’m open to it if it’s an easy addition. Would also like to add some sort of presence sensor but not sure how to build that out.

Here is what I am currently planning:

24 x 36 30% Transparent Acrylic Mirror: $89
32 Inch Monitor (I read that VA panels have better black levels so decided for this one): $271
Raspberry Pi 4 Starter Kit: $119
Budget for a Frame: ~$200

Total: $700+ after tax

Does this seem high? Do these components seem correct? I’m struggling to find the right list of things I’d need to purchase for this project.
