    • RE: Mirror in Brazil

Hey! Just saw your post and we ship to Brazil, here is our guide to help you pick the perfect mirror:
      https://www.twowaymirrors.com/how-to-choose-your-smart-mirror/

If you go with an Acrylic Two Way Mirror and it’s smaller than 24" x 48" the shipping is much more affordable than the glass options since it is light and isn’t as likely to break during shipping.

However, if you do want to go with glass, you can still import to Brazil affordably when the mirror is 24" x 36" or smaller and we do have some affordable standard sizes in Glass Smart Mirror & Dielectric Mirror to help keep the cost down. Let me know if you have any questions on our products or guidance on the mirror types.

Ben Eagan just created a comparison video like ours that addresses the film versus the glass two way as well which I thought was super informative:

    • RE: Where to buy 2 way mirror in USA

Hey! Just saw this post and am super excited that we were recommended as a vendor here for the project. I just created a post that details a the mirror types people can find on our website and compares the reflection, transparency, budget and shipping concerns.
      https://www.twowaymirrors.com/how-to-choose-your-smart-mirror/

We do ship worldwide, fully insured and if something breaks during transit we replace immediately.

Just a quick note on the acrylic based on our findings:
The maximum size we recommend for 1/4" thick acrylic is 24" x 48", any larger than that will be bendy. Some of our customers have tried to use 30" x 50" ish sizes with an IR Touch Overlay and ended up having to switch to glass because it literally interfered with the overlay and wouldn’t work.

For 1/8" acrylic we recommend 12" x 24" or smaller for the best look.

& I’m beaming because I finally convinced the higher ups to offer affordable sizes on the Dielectric Mirror. No one else in the US carries this glass and the display quality is the absolute best on the market while still offering a really nice reflection quality.

Really looking forward to being active in the forum if people are still around to see what questions people have and what kind of need there is for video content on how to create these mirrors.

Hi Mat, we sell two way mirrors and ship worldwide. I actually just wrote a post on how to choose the right mirror for smart mirror projects! Maybe this will help you:
      https://www.twowaymirrors.com/how-to-choose-your-smart-mirror/

If you try to find it locally just ask for 70% reflection and 11% transparency for glass two way, or 30% transparent to find the Smart Mirror glass.

    • RE: Install MagicMirror Bathroom

Definitely avoid the acrylic in the bathroom - go with a glass option because the damp environment will degrade the mirror coating. I made this handy guide for how to select the right mirror based on reflection, transparency, and so on-> https://www.twowaymirrors.com/how-to-choose-your-smart-mirror/

The Glass Smart Mirror we sell actually is the most used for bathroom installations. However, if you’re on a budget the Glass Two Way looks great as well! It just comes down to what you want the end result to look like. If you’re only putting text on the screen and no video, the Glass Two Way actually looks really amazing, so don’t feel like it’s a downgrade in that case.

The customers that buy it for that don’t have any issue with fog, usually the installation would require recessing the TV within the wall which does a pretty good job of protecting moisture from getting inside the mirror. I highly recommend using black mirror mastic glue and black VHB tape to attach the tv to the mirror, that can provide a nice barrier & secures it to the mirror all in one go.

When the mirror is larger than the screen, you’ll want to paint the back of the mirror black with rust-oleum paint (or one that adheres well to glass specifically), or black felt for the best look.

We have the smart mirror glass installed with the raspberry pi 3 & magicmirror.builders software in our showroom and the default setting keeps it on 100% of the time. There are buttons/modules/etc to turn this info on and off if you did want it to show dynamically.

    • RE: Mirror

Here is a link to a comparison post I made a few days ago on the types we offer! https://www.twowaymirrors.com/how-to-choose-your-smart-mirror/

We do ship worldwide - the acrylic two way has the cheapest shipping internationally.

Even if you end up going with a different vendor, it is super valuable info to see the visual differences with the mirror types.

Avoid the two way film if you can, it creates a funhouse effect and the reflection is dark/blurry in comparison.

    • RE: Where to buy 2 way mirror in USA

@vaju0503 the Mirropane is 70% reflective and 11% transparent, equivalent to our Glass Two Way Mirror that we price at $135.00+shipping in the size you mentioned. The cost is comparable but it can be a huge benefit to look around locally as well to avoid shipping! When shopping for a mirror you always want to ask about specs- many mirror and glass companies do not post this readily and usually don’t want you to know what they are but will say “it will work for you” and “don’t worry about it”.
