The idea of recommended products/requirements list
-
Hello everyone,
I’ve been following this forum for almost 10 years, and I’m writing my first entry now. Is there a post or platform for people in the US, Europe, and other countries where you can list or rate products you’ve used and enjoyed?
For people living in countries like Germany and the Netherlands, it might be much more convenient to quickly assemble a DIY kit, assemble the final product, and then hang the mirror.
What are your thoughts on this? If such a list or post existed, how would it be managed, etc.? How can everyone benefit and contribute most effectively?

@ercanermis certainly you have looked at the show your mirror section. There aren’t two alike
It really depends on where you want to put it and how much info you want to display.
And the technology changes so fast, not much of the list would be usable next year. -
And this forum is about the software, not an actual mirror on the wall

Actually I would love to see such a list for recommended parts. There are so many options and much more things to consider for building a magic mirror (like a good quality mirror, a good and thin monitor, recommendations for shops or simply a “shopping list” for parts you need).
Yes, @sdetweil ist right. We focus in the software, but actually we would not run ist without the right hardware.

@schlomm I have two production MagicMirror systems with no shiny surface. I don’t NEED another mirror in the house! Lol
43in tv on a normal tv mount in the T connection of my halls
Using a pi4 set up behind the top, and a usb camera for motion detection on topAnd a 50in tv in my office space which uses all its hdmi ports for different MagicMirror systems, w one running 24x7
I also usually have one running on my second monitor on my desktop
