write access to git repository

Hey there,

this is maybe a stupid questions for all you github pro’s, but I’m really struggling to commit a tiny fix and it already costs me some hours to provide this contribution.

What I have done so far:

cloned repository
created new branch
added changes
commit changes

But when I try to push it fails, however pull from master works.

~/Documents/Sandbox/privat/MagicMirror (add-translation)
git push --set-upstream origin add-translation
Enter passphrase for key '/c/Users/carsten/.ssh/id_rsa':
ERROR: Permission to MichMich/MagicMirror.git denied to sten82.
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

~/Documents/Sandbox/privat/MagicMirror (master)
git pull
Enter passphrase for key '/c/Users/carsten/.ssh/id_rsa':
Already up-to-date.

I’m running on Windows 10 with git console. I have stored ssh key in Github (and checked if it works) and changed gitconfig to use ssh instead of https.

What am I doing wrong?

YOU cannot push to the core repo… you can create a fork (under YOUR github userid), and then clone/push to THAT repo…

you can then propose changes to the master repo, by submitting a pull request, for your branch back to the master (and some branch, usually dev) … and the master owner can accept it , or not… and then merge it with the master branch whenever…
