[MMM-NewsFeedTicker] scroll from left to right only?
-
@Cr4z33 weird… I just re-installed MM and the module and changed the css and changed the newsfeed module config entry to MMM-NewsFeedTicker and started, left to right
{ module: "MMM-NewsFeedTicker", position: "bottom_bar", config: { feeds: [ { title: "New York Times", url: "https://rss.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/HomePage.xml" } ], showSourceTitle: true, showPublishDate: true, broadcastNewsFeeds: true, broadcastNewsUpdates: true } }, -
from my dropbox , screen video capture

I don’t understand. the default, the text ( the beginning of the line of text) starts to appear on the right side of the screen and scrolls to the left ( last showing the end of the line of text)
my change, per your request, the end of the text appears on the left of the screen, and scrolls to the right ( last showing the beginning of the line of text)
this is for left to right language English. I don’t know if language setting changes the default marquee order

@Cr4z33 did u see my post above?

Yep saw also the video.
Dunno why my MM system ignores the CSS edit…
-
@Cr4z33 do you have a custom.css setting which would override the module?
-
@sdetweil indeed so that’s the reason then??
Update:
Nope it keeps going back and forth even without custom.css entry… -
@Cr4z33 did u delete custom.css, comment out or what?
and restarted MM
-
@sdetweil I deleted the file.
Yes I restarted MM.
-
@Cr4z33 that is
~/MagicMirror/css/custom.css
right?and u edited the MMM-NewsFeedTicker.css in the MMM-NewsFeedTicker module folder to add my changes, yes?

Correct. 👍🏽
-
@Cr4z33 the module is still requesting to load the css directly, right? with the right name
getStyles: function() { return ["MMM-NewsFeedTicker.css"]; },one more thing, my module is running all default values, cause i changed the name of the default newsfeed module to this one… but did NOT set any config values…
{ module: "MMM-NewsFeedTicker", position: "bottom_bar", config: { feeds: [ { title: "New York Times", url: "http://www.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/HomePage.xml" } ], showSourceTitle: true, showPublishDate: true, broadcastNewsFeeds: true, broadcastNewsUpdates: true } }, -
@sdetweil I tried using your defaults as well by getting the issue again.
At this point could Debian 10 running (natively of course) on an Intel NUC be the problem?
-
@Cr4z33 I’m doing this on Intel.
rename your MMM-NewsFeedTicker folder out of the way and clone my fork

@sdetweil cheers going to do it as soon as I am done with reinstalling Debian (stupid issue with USB mics not detected anymore…)! 👍🏽
I will reply here.
-
@sdetweil I’ve installed your fork and… it’s going back and forth too! :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat:
Here’s my module config just in case:
{ module: "MMM-NewsFeedTicker", disabled: false, position: "bottom_bar", //classes: "day_scheduler", config: { feeds: [ { title: "Cambio Euro/Dollaro", url: "https://eur.fxexchangerate.com/usd.xml", customLogo: "xe.png" }, { title: "Agenzia ANSA - Ultima Ora", url: "https://www.ansa.it/sito/notizie/topnews/topnews_rss.xml", customLogo: "ansa.jpg" }, { title: "La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno - Lecce", url: "https://www.lagazzettadelmezzogiorno.it/rss.jsp?sezione=113", customLogo: "gdm.jpg" }, { title: "Hardware Upgrade", url: "https://feeds.hwupgrade.it/rss_hwup.xml", customLogo: "hwu.png" }, { title: "HDblog.it", url: "http://feeds.feedburner.com/hd-blog?format=xml", customLogo: "hdblog.png" }, { title: "Tom's Hardware", url: "https://www.tomshw.it/feed/", customLogo: "tomshw.png" }, { title: "Punto Informatico", url: "https://www.punto-informatico.it/feed/", customLogo: "pi.png" }, { title: "LeccePrima", url: "http://www.lecceprima.it/rss/", customLogo: "lecceprima.png" }, { title: "Galatina.it", url: "http://www.galatina.it/rss.xml", customLogo: "galatina.png" } ] } }, -
@Cr4z33 so, u have some custom class somewhere.
-
@sdetweil OK where should I look at please ? 😅
