Google Home to MagicMirror
-
Hi,
I want to be able to issue voice commands on my Google Home such that it can reach MagicMirror running on my Raspberry Pi.
Please guide me how this can be achieved. And which modules will help ?
Thanks

Looking forward for some feedback please.

@gitwaytogit currently I am not aware of any capability like this for Google Home.
the MMM-GoogleAssistant author is on holiday for another week or so
There is a module for Alexa, MMM-AlexaControl that does this by creating fake wemo outlets. but this doesn’t work on GH as far as I can tell.

@sdetweil I tried adding a wemo plug, but it takes me to the wemo app, which cannot find the fake plugs. it appears the wemo app is looking for some wifi said created by the real plugs.

Use IFTTT. You don’t need GA module in this case of using GH to control MM. (And of course, it can be achieved with “Actions” but it is reaaaaally difficult to implement for non-experienced.)
I think u can make IFTTT recipe for GH. (from GH to WebHook)
with MMM-Remote-Control or MMM-NotificationTrigge, you can receive IFTTT message and activate some jobs. However you need static domain or ip or at least DDNS. Or other warpholes to access your MM from outside of your network.
