Two Way Mirror for Infinity Mirror
-
Hi,
im planning to make an infinity mirror and Im looking for a two way mirror that can be delivered to Austria for less than 85€. I have seen that two way mirrors for infinity mirrors should ideally have the following properties:
- Transmission: roughly 10-20%
- Reflexion (on the mirror side): roughly 70-90%
I’ve done some research and haven’t found anything that suits that. Instead I found 2 options that could work. Those are
- the MirroPane Chrome Spye with 8% tranmission and 48% reflexion (on the mirror side)
- the MirroView with 25% transmission, 65% reflexion on the mirror side and ~60% reflexion on the other side
With 1. I’m a little hesitant because I feel like 48% reflexion could be too little to make a good infinity mirror. With 2. I feel like that the “other side” would be too reflective so that there’d be a lot of reflexion and not much of the infinity effect. I don’t have any experience with making an infinity mirror, does anybody have suggestions or tips which mirror would be best?

I was able to get a cheap sample of the MirroPane Chrome Spy. I’ll post updates when I receive it so other people can get an impression without having to pay for a sample.

The Chrome Spy works decently well for an infinity mirror. I get roughly 15-20 reflections. I guess a two way mirror with higher reflexion would get more reflections but im satisfied. Will post a pic when I finished the infinity mirror.
I’ve watched some tutorials about infinity mirrors and im pretty sure that the MirroView works very well in terms of the LED reflections you get. however it will mirror a lot of whats happening in the room the infinity mirror is in.

@rwoduzej It turned out really good:
