MMM-Videoplayer choppy playback
-
Hi all, I am trying to use Magic Mirror to make a sort of functional piece of wall art. I have a video file with a bunch of CG animations I would like to run behind some functional stuff like calendars and whatnot. I’m new to both Raspberry Pis and Magic Mirror, so please forgive me if I’m asking basic questions.
I’ve got the module MMM-Videoplayer up and running for the most part. However the video plays back super choppy and ruins the video. Its playing a file I have saved locally to the SD card (I just saved it to the same folder as the example video thats included in MMM-Videoplayer) and I am using a Pi 4 which plays the video perfectly in VLC player outside of Magic Mirror.
Is there anything I can do to make it play at the proper frame rate, or is there some limitation to Magic Mirror / the module thats holding it back? Is there a better way to play the video file than this module?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give!

@krynn72 I have similar problems with live streams from Youtube and MMM-SmartWebDisplay. A starting point would probably be the graphics card (GPU) hardware acceleration at the browser. Without this, everything is calculated via the CPU.
However, I have not yet addressed the problem. The keywords for finding a solution are: chromium hardware acceleration raspberry pi
