PI Zero module issues for this beginner

@wagon40 because the install didn’t finish… copy config.js.sample to config.js
can u show me the ~/install.log?
other things might fail too… as it didn’t complete the install steps…
i am trying again right now on my pi 0, but on jessie (as thats the OS level I have installed there at the moment)
-
nothing for install.log. tried a few different ways. I was able to make a copy but just a black screen on npm start up. not sure what to do.
-
I ran this command and got that
npm run config:check
npm ERR! code ENOENT npm ERR! syscall open npm ERR! path /home/pi/package.json npm ERR! errno -2 npm ERR! enoent ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/home/pi/package.json' npm ERR! enoent This is related to npm not being able to find a file. npm ERR! enoent npm ERR! A complete log of this run can be found in: npm ERR! /home/pi/.npm/_logs/2020-02-06T00_34_33_299Z-debug.log

@wagon40 did u run my script? it creates a log file…
npm run config:check
gotta be IN the MagicMirror folder
to get the base config
cd ~/MagicMirror/config cp config.js.sample config.js
but the system is a mess right now… hang on I am testing a fixed installer…
-
I appreciate your help and putting up with a noob
pi@raspberrypi:~/MagicMirror/config $ npm run config:check > magicmirror@2.10.1 config:check /home/pi/MagicMirror > node tests/configs/check_config.js Checking file... /home/pi/MagicMirror/config/config.js Your configuration file doesn't contain syntax errors :)
-
erase the current MagicMirror folder (rm -rf MagicMirror )
and run the install script again , they changed some upstream library to hard fail…
but we didn’t need it anyhow… -

@sdetweil my test of installer on buster on pi 0, comes up running fine now
-
was able to get it to work. only issues is screensaver continues to active.
tried this with no lucksudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart
add the following lines:
@xset s noblank
@xset s off
@xset -dpms
Save and close, using the commands CTRL-O and CTRL-X.Go to lightdm.conf:
sudo nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
add the following lines:
xserver-command=X -s 0 -dpms
-
@wagon40 I noticed that too.
Do this
bash -c "$(curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sdetweil/MagicMirror_scripts/master/screensaveroff.sh)"
