      I am doing a fullscreen image transition between two images by fading one of them out to reveal the next one for a slideshow module. Unfortunately, it only updates about a couple times a second. My raspberry pi is passively cooled. Is there just not the horsepower to achieve a good transition?

        @magicinme which pi? maybe pi4…

        I have updated the MMM-ImagesPhotos module to do opacity transitions and also blurring around the edges.
        its not always in sync, and sometimes the blurred background drowns out everything else…(cpu wise)

        I see the same glitches on my i7-2600k linux desktop
        electron doesn’t use the gpu

        i also have a jetson nano (arm64) and odroid (arm7 like pi) , both faster than 4, but still show the glitches.

        I’ve spent about a year working on different changes to improve the performance, and while I’ve got significant improvement
        blur kills it (but I like it!)
