When using the module on my Rasp Pi the default setting of source: “bing” works just fine. I’m trying to change it so that it will cycle through pictures in a specific folder. The readme says to use source: “local:</path/to/directory>” but when I try both

      source: “local:</home/pi/Pictures>” or
      source: “local:/home/pi/Pictures”

neither seems to work. Any suggestions? Perhaps a better module or another way of displaying a background image for the mirror?

@sdetweil Hey man, thanks for the suggestion. The module you suggested got the trick done and made me realize (since I’m new to linux) that my actual file names have to include the extension. Basically, all the photos in the local directory specified I saved as I would on Windows without the extension, lol. So, pretty easy fix and now I have the option of using both modules.

        Thanks for the help,

@shybull looking at the module code, the second string u listed should work.

there are other modules that display pictures

          I use MMM-ImagesPhotos

now it only supports a folder inside it’s folder for pictures, but you can link to another folder. I link to a file system share from my local server that was mounted on the pi.

          see the ln
          command

@shybull i always saved with extension, as that is what drives the app selection when i double click a file
