Legal Help
-
@alyssennguyen You literally want to have your cake and bang it too. If it’s opensource under a permissive license, a potential company will be able to just take your code and use it. And if it’s proprietary or under a stricter license, it’s so, so, SO easy for a company with a proper budget to reverse-engineer it and make its own version. To restrict it, you’ll have to file a patent, but then guess what, you’re screwing everyone who wants to do the same thing, and it’s up to you to defend that patent.
Stop being paranoid.

@martenfur I can file a patent if i wish. I can do whatever I would like to do if i wish to do it.
I came here to look for a software developer to potentially help me, but I had to take care of the legal side first, thats why I asked these questions here, If your answers are going to be of no help, then why even respond.I asked a question that was all.

@alyssennguyen I am willing to discuss your project. my email is my userid at gmail

@alyssennguyen I think what Sam was getting at was that this is an open source community. If you want to patent software then you best off checking out rent a coder or one of those sites. MM is an open source forum and community. Nobody here would use your software if they would have to pay for it.

@alyssennguyen I am trying to help you.
You know why? Literally every single time I’ve seen someone guard his idea so badly, he either turned out to be a kid or a guy who literally has no idea what he’s doing, and doesn’t even have that great of an idea to begin with.
As I’ve said, you are wasting your time.
