I also called a local glazier for the semitransparent mirror, they told me it would be around 80€ as well… I was looking for something rather like what they sell on cutplasticsheeting.co.uk (search for “two way acrylic mirror”), since that is much cheaper than a real mirror and supposed to be optically just as good.

That’s interesting. This guy ( http://blog.tobias-weis.de/smarter-smartmirror/ ) uses the myspiegel.de mirror and is more than happy with it.

Adding one more link to a mirror glas from Pilkington - which in my personal opinion - would be a perfect solution:
              http://asset manager-ws.pilkington.com/fileserver.aspx?cmd=get_file&ref=11395&cd=cd
I am living in Munich and we have already contacted quite a few glaciers in Munich trying to buy a magic mirror glas (even contacted one glacier in Rosenheim) and up to now we have not been successful.
Honestly I am attempted to buy the glas at myspiegel.de since - at least in the Munich area - it seems impossible to find a local glacier beeing capable to supply a spy mirror.
I have read the posts mentioning Stuttgart and Switzerland, however this is a little bit too far for me just to purchase the glas.
Any comments/ success story from someone in Munich area more than welcome

For what did you exactly ask?
                Spionspiegel?
                2-Wege-Spiegel?
                Venezianischer Spiegel?

I made the experience that most off the glaciers had no clue but after i explained it or used the names above, they had some solution for me…

                  Thanks for the fast reaction:
We did ask for Spionspiegel and - after having the feeling that it might not be completely clear - explicitely for the Pilkington glas, however did not (yet) find someone capable to sell what we are looking for.

@Steff next time try it with the other buzzwords.
I think pilkington glas is just a brand. So if they don’t have a distributor, which sells pilkington, you have a problem.

                      Good morning,

I think I will try the acrylic glas from myspiegel.de and hope it would do his job good.

Kindly apologize, seems like the link was not really working:
