@KirAsh4 Ah okay, yep that is correct. If we had a reliable way to do voice recognition, then I would gladly implement it into this.

Very nice! I might incorporate some of your ideas into my module (if you don’t mind). I especially like the album art, title, and album info.

@KirAsh4 With a touch screen, you wouldn’t need to see the cursor anyways. Which is why I left it as is :)

Edit: I’m also getting my mirror film today, so I can finally test later whether or not it will work on a capacitive based touch screen.

      I’ll post results!

@MichMich Yep if you look in the css file in the module, you will see a line at the top that is commented out for displaying the cursor.

      MM Music Player

First module, first time using node, go easy on me ;)

I made this for the original MagicMirror that used the standard xampp stack, so this was originally made using PHP for the back end part of it. I basically ported this over to MagicMirror2 from there.

Basically, this is a simple music player. Add your music (must be .mp3) to the music directory in the module and it will automatically detect them. No need to manage a list of file names or anything like that. After that, simply click play.

Note: You do need to be able to click the buttons, otherwise the music won’t start. I may apply an option to the config to auto play on launch if anyone is interested. I have made it this way as I am working on a MagicMirror that I plan to make touch screen (well, try it).

    • RE: Where to buy good two way mirrors ?

@MichMich Fair point. In my project however, I am actually making a touch screen “magic mirror”. So I actually chose to go with foil due to it being so thing (still waiting to test to see if touch screen will work through it).

Edit: If I were going for no touch screen, I would for sure go with an acrylic two way mirror.

@KirAsh4 Sounds like a plan! We’ll see how this turns out :)

    • RE: Touch Screen Monitor With Two Way Mirror Film

@KirAsh4 Good advice! I plan to take the screen out of the enclosure anyways so that I can build a custom enclosure for it. I’m not sure whether I will do this before I apply the film or not yet. I’m thinking it will be much easier that way.

    • RE: Touch Screen Monitor With Two Way Mirror Film

@KirAsh4 Yeah I’m going to have to research that a bit. Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll follow up with results when I get the film in about 2 days.

    • RE: Touch Screen Monitor With Two Way Mirror Film

@KirAsh4 Yeah it’s a transparent / two way mirror film. That’s why I’m going to test it on one of my old Android devices to see if the effect works, and if I can still use the touch screen through the film.

Depending on how that goes, I’ll have to try and find a monitor that is similar to the touch screen on that device.

My only worry is applying the film. You need to wet the surface you are applying it to with a soap and water mix. I’m hoping I don’t damage a monitor (when I have one) when doing this.
