@tomster I am sure. It looks like this because I haven’t dismantled the monitor from the back so the light is not passing through all the way and actually the foil on the back is black, not white as the one used previously. The results IMHO are way better and closer to the look of a real mirror as you can see from the video.

@InternetPolice Sorry for the long wait for the mirror comparison pictures, but my setup is quite big for a single person to handle so I have to wait for some help to get it off the wall, unhook the power, take it to a bright spot with natural light, put the mirrors next to each other and take some good photos from all angles.

@bkost I am using three different PSUs - A 5V 3A for the RPi, a separate 5V 30W for the LED strip and the original PSU for the display, but it all depends on your setup and the length of the LED strip. However, I would advise you to have separate PSUs as the LED strip draws quite a lot of current especially if all channels, including the white are used.

@tomster I guess the only solution to achieve a regular mirror reflection is to have a custom-built mirror where only the area in front of the display is 2-way mirror and the rest is a regular mirror coating, but I can’t imagine how much would that cost :D
I am happy with my mirror now and so is my girlfriend. It is better than the other mirror that I ordered here on the forum and it is much cheaper so I decided to share that with everyone. I barely make any profit out of this since I have a well-paid full-time job and I am doing this for the community since I gathered a lot of knowledge from here throughout the years and I decided to give something back in return.
