    • RE: Power-saving modes?

I went ahead and purchased this one (Adafruit was out of stock): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JOZTAC6/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    • RE: Power-saving modes?

@AxLed Thanks. I used that module as a reference and ran the commands manually…it still takes a long time BUT at least using a sensor could help a user more easily activate it.

Can I ask what sensor your are using?

    • Power-saving modes?

How are people handling turning their screens on/off?

I’m running my mirror on an RPi3. It disables the HDMI port after a timeout and I’m using a voice command to turn it back on. The problem is that it takes almost 10 seconds for this to happen and, in the mean time, I have no way of knowing if the voice command actually worked until it turns on.

So, I’m looking for a better solution.

    • RE: Kalliope assistant + MM

Apologies for necro’ing but this seems to be the “best” place to ask this.

Is there a way to disable the TTS portion of Kalliope? I’d like to use it for its STT for my magic mirror, but I really don’t need the TTS responses (nor do I want the delay associated with it). The text responses from the MMM-Kalliope module are sufficient for communicating back with the user.

    • RE: Any module that integrates with an Alexa-friendly notes app?

@mykle1 Ha, I should have been more clear: it should integrate with SOME kind of app…it just doesn’t have to be Alexa compatible.

@mykle1 Yes, I saw those but neither has any kind of app integration.

    • Any module that integrates with an Alexa-friendly notes app?

I’m just looking for a note taker/scratch pad of sorts that integrates with Alexa that I can display on my MM. I see there is a Note Taker module, but I’m not a fan of the activation word AND it requires you to set up your own AWS DynamoDB.

EDIT: I’d even use a non-Alexa integrated note app that works with MM.
