Fresh install on Trixie - Unable to rotate screen
-
I have an original install that was running on a Pi 3B. It was struggling, so I opted to procure a P5. I have installed Trixie, however, I’m unable to rotate the display. There is no system config in preferences that lets me do it through software, and if I add a lien in boot/firmware/config.txt nothing happens there either. I’m really at a loss and I’m hoping someone has had success that can point me in the right direction.

well…disregard. I wiped and reinstalled the OS fresh, and now the option exists in the system control panel for me to adjust the screens.

@alex2. @sdetweil I am facing the same issue. I was running upgraded Bullseye on Pi3 B with an Acer 27 inch monitor. After a chance rpi update, the rotation and resolution 1080x1920 gt messed up. After struggling for four days , i decided to reinstall OS with Bookworm and recovered my MM instance via rebuild. However, i am unable to configure rotation to portrait and regain my 1080x1920 resolution. the /boot/firmware/config.txt and cmdline.txt configuration changes as suggested by Chatgpt isnt helping . Any help will be appreciated. please. Thanks.

@Rags as @alex2 described: Try to use the menu / configuration tool.
Easiest and safest way with connected monitor/mouse/keyboard. If not possible give VNC a try - this could be harder because if screen resolution is not right, menu windows/dialog-boxes are hard to find/use…The menu optiions do all the entries for you and these changes are persitant.
Godd luck,
regards,
Ralf
