I fried my Raspberry Pi 3 model b+...
-
…by accidentally connecting 12V to the 5V GPIO pin in a brain-fart-moment.
At first it looked like the pi was dead, although the red LED was still turning on but some magic smoke escaped at the same time…Some google research later and I found out the magic smoke escaped from a diode (D5) which is used for the power protection circuit. After removing said diode the pi boots up again and seems to run just like before. However, I would like to replace that diode with a new one for the next time my brain stops working. Does anyone know where to get them? I couldn’t find anything at all!. The brand seems to be ST or something like that and it is written “BUZ GP 748” on it. That’s all I know at the moment.
Anyone able to help finding the right diode?

eBay, Amazon, etc.
Google it!I found this…

Hope This Helps!

Thanks, it’s a start. Google didn’t give me anything useful.

I ordered cheap SMBJ5.0A diodes from Aliexpress for a couple of cents and now my Pi is as good as new. Not the best solder job but I don’t care.
Maybe I should see if that really worked by feeding it with 12V again?
