Hello, So I’m here trying to make a magic mirror right? and so i see this shiny NoiR camera over at the raspberry pi website. Im trying to get a camera that will make my screen activate on motion, so most likely i wont be taking pictures, but should I get the NoiR? I also want to get a module for motion gestures, and again, I don’t know which one I should get or even if there is a MMM for visual Motion Gestures through camera. Thanks in advance!

@PHAGE-GOV so far I have not seen a multi-use camera capability… face reco AND motion… both want to own the camera all the time. hm… but that makes me think… I have a motion thru camera module and it uses a system tool to do the detection, but that tool can also capture images, movie… I would what it would take to feed into openCV… ??? something to pout on my list

I haven’t seen gestures thru camera either… I have seen thru some microwave chips to detect hand motions

@sdetweil so would you recon we go with Face ID through NoiR or regular?
and then on top of that we get a IR sensor for motion activation. Would there be enough GPIO pins for a setup like that?

@PHAGE-GOV i do not know the answer to any of those questions… I don’t know anything about NoIR
I have a couple PIR modules here, used them once, like my camera setup better

had face reco installed to test somethind for another user, but don’t run it except to test… just me here

@sdetweil do you think there is enough pins for the fan and IR sensor tho?
