So I’m currently building my first smart mirror as a birthday present for someone. The problem I’m having is that I’ve mad the frame too small and the monitor does not touch the mirror. My question is does the monitor need to be touching the two way mirror for the best performance or will it be fine from about 2.1cm away? Pictures do a better job of explaining images

@sdetweil how badly does that affect user experience? Will it the image be blurry or not as clear? I would test it myself but I don’t want to take the protective film off the mirror yet

@animeman0 there’s too many variables to give you an answer as it depends on there following: is there an angle difference between the monitor and glass across the whole monitor space? What is the lighting like in the area? Where is the lighting in the area? What about natural light in the area?

The only wait to know for certain is for you to try it, can you try it without removing the protective film?
