Hey! I really need help with the mirror I’m building. Its my girlfriends Birthday in just 4 days and I don’t have the time randomly ordering new Boards and Displays just to trial and error my way to a solution.

I’m a Software Engineer so I had no trouble so far but I’m at a loss when it comes to this kind of hardware. So I orderer a “matching” Controller Board and a Display from Amazon.
      https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07NVN714H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0722PLC11/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

At first it looked like everything works fine but after a few minutes the board seems to crash. First theres a lot of stripes on the screen, the board turns out (indicating with the red LED) and powers on a few seconds later. After that it just takes about 30 seconds to crash again. At first I thought I might fix this by putting some heat sinks on the chip which gets really hot but it did not help. I trief contacting the vendor via amazon but they would not get me in contact with them and just gave me back my money.

Heres a list of things I tried so far:

      • Adding heat sinks
      • Using the VGA Port
      • Another power supply

I also tried finding the correct firmware files but none of the tutorials worked so far.

I really hope someone can help me and if you need any more details I’m glad to give them to you, I just don’t know yet what exactly you need to know. Thats why I just add a few images of the board and the display. Also theres a video showing the problem.

      Thank you :)

I used the same hw with you,(in my case, controller is slightly different anyway)
Most possible reason might be the physical connection is broken. Keep the cable plugging tightly.

@mmrize Yeah I noticed that the cable is not really tight. I tried fixing it with some tape already :D

Also I just noticed that while crashing theres a high frequent squeeking sound.

@nyghtx You have the appropriate driver for screen installed on Pi? I know when I’ve bought screens that connect with ribbon cable I’ve had to install the correct driver to get it to work.

@ankonaskiff17 It’s connected via HDMI with the Raspberry Pi 4.
