News Ticker

@paviro I looked at that as an option, but I don’t really want to go messing with the core modules. I think it would be better to have a new module almost like a “modification” to the core news module.

Yea…maybe I’m not saying it correctly…what I’m suggesting is something like the following. Can I load 2 “newsfeeds” in different locations on the page with 2 different RSS feeds? module: 'newsfeed', position: 'bottom_bar', config: { feeds: [ { title: "New York Times", url: "http://www.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/HomePage.xml" } ], showSourceTitle: true, showPublishDate: true } module: 'newsfeed', position: 'SOMEOTHERBAR', config: { feeds: [ { title: "MARC TRAIN INFO, url: "MARC TRAIN RSS FEED URL" } ], showSourceTitle: true, showPublishDate: true }Note from Moderator: Please use proper markdown for easier reading
-
 Yes you can:

 { module: 'newsfeed', position: 'bottom_bar', config: { feeds: [ { title: "New York Times", url: "http://www.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/HomePage.xml" } ], showSourceTitle: true, showPublishDate: true } }, { module: 'newsfeed', position: 'top_bar', config: { feeds: [ { title: "CNN: Technology", url: "http://rss.cnn.com/rss/edition_technology.rss" } ], showSourceTitle: true, showPublishDate: true } },

Worked like a charm. Thanks!!! I am really loving this MM. I’m not sure if mine will actually work with a real mirror (I have too much text on the screen…lol) but I’m having a great time figuring this out.
-
Awesome, glad things are working out and you’re able to configure it the way you want to. As for the mirror … you can always get a larger mirror. :)

Hi, is someone trying to make this module? If’ve looked further into it, and tried to rewrite the default RSS feed module to a ticker, however this level of coding is too advanced for me. Can html marquee be used for this?

 Any update on this?
