Vilros Magic Glass Mirror and Frame
-
Hey all
Long-time lurker, first time poster. I found a nice old 20x24 picture frame that I am looking to use as the front of a mirror but then I looked at the price of the glass. It gets mighty expensive when you get up to that large of a size.
As a possible alternative, I started looking around Amazon. I came across this “Vilros” product for US$150 that has the frame, glass/mirror and monitor. Has anyone heard of them or have any experience with them?

Good afternoon, I want to do a magicmirror I already have all the features programmed … only on the hardware in the reflective film, can someone tell me how to do this? which site to order?
-
@Mariana-Serra - You can purchase one-way reflective film off of Amazon or anywhere else and then mount it on a piece of normal glass. There are instructions all over YouTube on how to do this without ripples. You may wish to search for videos on applying car window tint, as it is the same process.
@cynod - I’ve never used them. It seems like a pretty decent kit for the price.
-
@cynod Just ordered one myself going to see how it comes out! have you ordered one yet?
-
Can’t beat the price but I’m surprised they don’t show a picture of the back to see connections etc.
Looking forward to hearing what you think @Robertovj3 and @cynod ! -
@cynod @Robertovj3 Sorry for mentioning you almost a year later, but how did the mirror turn out? I’ve been looking into getting that MM kit from Amazon, but I’m hesitant. What did you guys think of it? Thanks!

@carbonatedbeans , Hi, I bought reflective film and glued it to normal glass. The quality is very bad. I threw away the film and bought the two-way mirror.
