SSH Tutorial
-
Is there a tutorial somewhere that explains how to set up SSH so I can control/modify my MM from my Mac? Thanks.
-
@blacter open the preferences/Raspberry PI configuration/interfaces tab on the pi top. left menu.
check the ssh box,
save and extra and restart your pi -
Thanks. I now can see the MM on my terminal. From there, how do I modify the config.js file?

@blacter
also, you are supposed to be able to have a ‘disk view’ over the remote ssh disk withI can’t get it to work on catalina 15.5 at the moment

@lavolp3 yeh, tricky crap… just click the buttons (unless u are making 100 of these disks)

it is the best way to run a pi headlessly. I never use the GUI.
-
@lavolp3 i don’t use the gui either after initial setup…
but u can’t run headless AND have MM on it… (unless in serveronly mode)
use ssh ans sftp file system over…
winscp and bitvise clients… -

yeah you got me it’s not really headless.
I set up the pi on my laptop, start it and install the mirror via ssh already. So I don’t have to attach a keyboard to the pi. -
@lavolp3 absolutely!.. I only use the actual pi keyboard/mouse when absolutely neccessary… got one of the little combo keyboard/mouse things. but still a pain
