installing mm

@geo you don’t install the scripts… u execute one line
to install you copy/paste this line
bash -c "$(curl -sL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sdetweil/MagicMirror_scripts/master/raspberry.sh)"
which will execute the install process
-
hi yes i havs done that but how do i open the mirror
-

-
@geo show me the ~/install.log file
something is missing
-
hi,finally got my numb brain partially working and installed scripts, easy when you know how, thankyou.now how do i open mm cos npm start does not work.
would still like to know why the original command did not work.thx again, geocd MgicMirror
hi when i tried to find the install.log file permission was denied -
@geo I don’t understand.
to start mm after install, you navigate to the MagicMirror folder and execute npm start
cd ~/MagicMirror npm start
-
@geo >would still like to know why the original command did not work.
because u copied some old instructions.
the install scripts were removed 2 releases ago, because they require constant updating, which the project felt was not in the core mission of MagicMirror.I have taken over maintenance and updates for the scripts, and this is mentioned on the project GitHub site, as alternative install methods
see after
https://docs.magicmirror.builders/getting-started/installation.html#manual-installation -
hi thx for that.
i now have mm installed as per your instructions i can open the config and everything else but still cant get the mm display.you asked to see the install log but permission was denied.
i am finding it difficult to understand why matters seem more complicated which makes everything more daunting especially after having an up and running mm which was ruined by me installing out of date info.
i am at a loss as to what to do next other than to sell everything.
regards,

@geo are you running MagicMirrorOS? and not the raw MagicMirror app on raspian?
