What module do you use?.
-
@mdlefevere i don’t cause it doesn’t work…
i have tried all the modules, and all the commands
i blank the screen, and use my webcam for motion detection
-
So that will be my next option if i can’t get this to work.
Do you switch it completely off at night or do you leave it with a blanc screen 24/7?
You have an estimation of how much power i draws in a day? -
@mdlefevere blank screen when I’m not around.
power draw. the 55 is 82 watts/hour on, .5 off
the 43 is 65w/h on, also .5 off -
You mean 5 in standy of with a blanc screen?.
If that’s the case it’s not worth all the trouble of trying to get CEC to work ;) -
@mdlefevere no. 0.5 (one half of one watt) is off/standby
blanc screen is on, so 82 or 65 for me…I have not measured power consumption
I have 5 SBCs plugged into the same circuit (w the 55in, 4 hdmi ports)
pi0
2 - pi3 (1 runs homeseer to control my lighting)
pi 4
odroidand another pi4 I just got with the 7in touch screen and case
and then jetson nano in the hall (with the 43in)
and a mac mini
and my intel desktop (never off, but I power off the screens at night when i leave the office) -
Thanks for the info.
I’ve setup a Pi3 with CEC and this seems to be working.
Even after a long time the TV turns on. My Samsung also instantly recognized the Pi3 as a CEC device unlike the Pi4. It had some struggle with the new Pi.Could this be a Pi4 related issue?, or just Samsung?.
-
@mdlefevere no idea… CEC doesn’t work from pi3, but does partially from pi4…
not from any other SBC -
-
Weird. I switched back to a Pi3 and it’s working fine now.
Connected it with a HDMI<>HDMI cable to the HDMI Arc port on the TV. The TV instantly popped up with a CEC connected Raspberry.Left it for over a night and just now it perfectly started.
