    I follow the installation commands and after running the

    npm install - - only=prod

    It does not create then node_modules directory so I get a non such directory when I enter the next command.

    I have tried the “npm update” and the “ npm init” commands but still no luck.

    Any advice?

        @sdetweil

        Yes I did. For some reason it is not creating the node_modules directory so I get an error trying to execute the next command.

            @sdetweil Ran your script and was not able to execute the run the next run config command to enter the alexa AS client ID info. Even went back and deleted the complete MMM-awesome-alexa directory and tried again with same result. I get an early warning that my package-lock.json was created with an old version of npm and it had to retrieve info from the registry. Warnings and errors start from there.

            I am fairly new at this but had success installing the google photos module.

            Would really like to get this alexa module installed but am at a loss.

              @tyboderek did u install mm using sudo?

              there should be no reason for this problem

              erase the module folder again and run the script like this

              bash -x do-install.sh &>somefile.txt

              and send me somefile.txt via email

              same userid as here at gmail
