Hi I am using a Pi4B with a Acer QG271 connected via HDMI and I am unable to turn the monitot off using the interface. I have tried reinstalling the module. All the other functions work. When I click the Monitor Off button it reports Done, no errors.

      Thoughts anyone?

I also control my Monitor and turn it off or on. I do this via CEC. This a posibility to control divices via hdmi connection.
Maybe you have not turned this on in the monitor settings or your monitor does not support this.

@Mr-Fliffer said in MMM-Remote-Control unable to turn monitor on/off:

          CEC

@Mr-Fliffer it did work at one time, but I also what the dimming function, and ever since, it no longer turns off. BTW what is CEC?

@ally CEV is Consumer Electronic Control

            https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Electronics_Control

the ability to interact with the system inside over the HDMI cable.

With the advent of the Energy star power saving program, displays, tvs, and other devices are required to turn off after a period of inactivity.

and are required to show a message that says
No Input, warning you about the impending power off

now your device is off and can’t be turned back on.

CEC provides a low power mechanism to request the device to do things. change channel, and also power on/off.
