delete one of them and replace the other with
"start": "DISPLAY=\"${DISPLAY:=:0}\" ./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js",also do uname -a
-
@sdetweil said in Magic Mirror doesn't work after a boot:
“start”: “DISPLAY="${DISPLAY:=:0}" ./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js”,
{ "name": "magicmirror", "version": "2.25.0", "description": "The open source modular smart mirror platform.", "main": "js/electron.js", "scripts": { "start": "DISPLAY=\"${DISPLAY:=:0}\" ./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js", }, "repository": { "type": "git", "url": "git+https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror.git" -
Linux raspberrypi 6.1.21-v7+ #1642 SMP Mon Apr 3 17:20:52 BST 2023 armv7l GNU/Linux

@eightbit you didn’t need to delete all the rest of the scripts
-
@eightbit ok, armv7 and memory >512… hm
can u send me the ~/install.log
I want to see why it picked the run-statrt approach…same userid at gmail
-
@eightbit thanks for the log… says electron did not install. hmm…
thus trying to use chromium…
does it start now ? pm2 or npm start?
-
@sdetweil ```
secretsanta@raspberrypi:~/MagicMirror $ npm startmagicmirror@2.25.0 start
DISPLAY=“${DISPLAY:=:0}” ./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.jssh: 1: ./node_modules/.bin/electron: not found
-
-
@eightbit i couldn’t approve the message, system though it was spam
those are noise we can’t hide…
try npm start again
-
@sdetweil that started up very quickly. Let me clean out my pm2 and re-run the autostart you suggested at the beginning.
-
DUDE YOU ARE THE ABSOLUTE BOSS!
You may have even saved Christmas for my secret santa recipient. Thank you so much for helping me slog through this last piece of the puzzle. So it was a missing electron install after all? (And probably all my fuzzing around with the start up solutions)
-
@eightbit yes… why it didn’t install, I have no clue…
but it also showed the chromium problem which I hadn’t seen before…to restore the original package.json (with the correct start line) do
cd ~/MagicMirror git checkout package.jsonglad we could fix it !
