Orange Pi Zero 3 Screen Rotation

I picked up one of these well priced boards to have a play with and get an upgraded version of my mirror going on this with DietPi. Sadly, it’s driving me mad!

I’m booting straight into a chromium kiosk mode with everything working great until I rotate the screen to portrait mode. When rotated the frames per section drop to practically nothing it’s really strange.

I’ve rotated the screen as follows…

sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/98-rotate_screen.conf

Set the following in the file:

Section "Monitor"
        Identifier "Monitor0"
        Option "Rotate" "right"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Screen0"
        Device "Card0"
        Monitor "Monitor0"
EndSection

I know work around is to use css but it doesn’t scale well in my setup so ideally want this working. The slowdown and massive judder can be seen when running MMM-Snow and MMM-Xmas.
