I’m looking to make a shallow-depth mirror and I was wondering if there was a better solution than using a tiny, recycled laptop monitor + LCD controller board. Shopping for regular monitors, it’s tough to know what the total depth of the guts that I’ll need (once the plastic is ripped off). Can anyone recommend a super thin-traditional LCD monitor?

My 17inch lcd(LP173WF3) has 0.4cm. Normal lcd monitor is usually thicker than that, I guess.

@Sean Thanks. Did you need an LCD controller board as well?

@sero Interesting solution. Does it take USB only as an input? Any issues there?

@mizzoudavis small palm sized board is needed. You can purchase in amazon, ebay or other replacement shop.

I removed the controller (which has just USB) and replaced it with a controller from eBay that has HDMI, VGA, etc.:

                  eBay item 360626141655 :)

@Sean Thank you! I wonder if the USB output of the controller board is enough to power the RPi?

@mizzoudavis enough but sometimes not stable. I use another hub.
