@Sean first of all, thank you for this amazing module! quick question, I’m using ps3 eye which has 4 channel mics but I don’t see any option for
channelin the config. It is only present in yourMMM-Hotwordmodule. Am I missing something? Thanks! -
@mithatcak
The node modulenode-record-lpcm16- which is used for getting record from mic in MMM-AssistantMk2 - has that feature already (from version 1.0.1 / since Jul. 2019), So if you installed AMK2 nowadays, you can usechannelfields also in this module. -
@Sean thanks! I noticed a typo in
MMM-Hotwordconfig documentation it should bechannelinstead ofchannels. When I usechannelsboth Hotword and AMK2 won’t record. -
@Sean maybe u know what how i can fix the:
https://github.com/makepluscode/rpi-tutorial-advanced/issues/12i im following this guide:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrOOBGkOOZQ&feature=youtu.be

I am having an issue with getting this module to work. I get a blank black screen when my magic mirror starts up after I installed this module. I have looked over the config and everything looks fine (no missing commas or brackets). I am not sure what else I can do.
-
@aunrea start the developers window, with ctrl-shift-i on the keyboard, select the tab marked console at the top of that window, and scroll up to find any errors, usually red text
-
@sdetweil The only error I got was
Moment Timezone has no data for America/New York. See http://momentjs.com/timezone/docs/#/data-loading/. logError @ moment-timezone-with-data.js:472 -
I just realized I forgot to reactivate the module. I quoted it out. Now it runs fine. I don’t know what was the issue before.

i got this when i was trying to start it:

This problem can often be fixed by running “npm rebuild” on the current system

@otto after u fix the node problem above, then redo the npm install in the module folder…
if there are still issues, then see the module installation instructions for the steps to resolve this problem -

@Sean do i need to reinstall it all, or can i just jump to electron-rebuild ?
-
@otto
I think if there is no other issue, just doingelectron-rebuildbe enough. -
@Sean
just to be sure i havent miss understanding the guide,
sudo apt-get install gcc-5 #or gcc-7 what sholde i have 5 or 7 i am running the latest Raspbian Buster 2019-07-10 -
@otto
Raspbian Buster has gcc8 as default. Unfortunately with gcc8, grpc wouldn’t be compiled easily. so You need to downgrade to gcc7 -
sudo apt-get install gcc-7 sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-7 10 sudo update-alternatives --config gccThis may work to change current gcc version to 7.
