@sdetweil I understand that. It had “loading” displayed when I went to bed but when I got up forecast/current had loaded and was displaying the current forecast.
So in some respect weathergov forecast/current was functional,

RE: Weather Module Current Forecast
@ankonaskiff17 FWIW, the weathergov “forecast/current” loaded at some point… I posted message about last evening about hitting wall. Quit for the day and powered down monitor which I just turned on and it was up and running. I’ve rebooted and it is in that “Loading…” mode similar to what was resolved on the forecast module. I started stopwatch to see how long it takes to load. Surprised me that’s for sure. I was sitting there looking at it for a couple of minutes before it sank in to my brain.

RE: Weather Module Current Forecast
@sdetweil So for time being its best to stick with Current Weather module that I already have up and running on different device. I can just copy/paste and be done with it since it works using openweathermap.

Weather Module Current Forecast
I’ve hit a wall on getting the hourly forecast to work.
It seems straightforward, instead of /forecast I use forecast/hourly but it just wont go.
I went to weather.gov site and I can find stuff about gridpoints and following their instructions get a result.
The other part and where I am way over my head is I ran across some lines that say something to effect that api.weather.gov/points/forecast/hourly are deprecated where api.weather.gov/points/forecast is not.
I’m stuck -
RE: New Default Weather Module.
@sdetweil That’s all good now. Wrestling with another instance of module but for current weather and it is whipping me.

RE: tableClass sizing question in weather module
@sdetweil That 7" is history. On my fathers coffee table now.
The one I’m working on now is 42" monitor. It will be input on bedroom TV . I’ll just edit HDMI input label as MM so I can toggle inputs on TV remote so I can get quick summary of weather, news, headlines, stock market. Not much on watching TV in bed but had spare monitor & seemed like a good application.
I have freestanding one in living room and and I look at it many times during course of the day. -
RE: tableClass sizing question in weather module
@sdetweil I’ve used developer tool a bunch to get things lined up, font sizing etc.
I figured tableClass sizes were defined somewhere, just didn’t know where to look. I had looked in weather CSS but was not there.
developer tool was a challenge on that 7" screen MM -
tableClass sizing question in weather module
Is there a reference to where tableClass small, medium, large dimensions are located and how can you tweak size of the table in CSS so you can getting sizing correct in relation to modules stacked above or below.
There are a bunch of discrete scripts contained in that module and I searched a few of them to see if I could track down table sizing but no joy. -
RE: New Default Weather Module.
@sdetweil I tried that with the default zero but was kind of wondering about that when most of timer type units are in millisecond values larger than effectively “no milliseconds.”
Just tested and that was the ticket.
Seems like maybe default should be 1000 and not zero.
After you set me straight about not editing modules directly I try and minimize duplicating configuration settings that are in module itself.
Especially in a 5 day (default) forecast probably updating every 2 - 3 hours is overkill but with default load delay of 0 that means your first view of forecast is 2 - 3 hours after starting MM.
Thanks for getting me straight. -
New Default Weather Module.
I have set up the new weather module for both forecast and current. As of right now I’ve gotten the 5 Day forecast to run but it appears that it won’t populate the data until AFTER the “updateInterval = X” times out then it loads data. As a practical matter there is no need to update a 5 day forecast that fast and I had it set for 60 minutes. So after sitting there with “Loading…” for 60 minutes it then loaded the module data.
Is there a way to make module make a retrieve as soon as launched then start counting down, rather than after the interval times down to zero then load first batch of data?
I have initialLoadDisplay = 0 in config file but doesn’t seem to impact initial loading of forecast data.
