    • Remote File Compliments not working and MM hangs

      I added the following to the modules section in config.js for remoteFile compliments, but it does not seem to work.

      I looked at the forum and users have mentioned to place the compliments.json in modules folder. I thought we should not change or place anything in the modules/default folder as it might be overwritten on upgrade.

                          module: "compliments",
                          position: "bottom_bar",
                          config: {
                           remoteFile: "~/MagicMirror/config/compliments.json"
                          }

      This is my compliments.json

      {
          "anytime" : [
              "Stay Safe"
          ],
          "morning" : [
              "Good morning"
          ],
          "afternoon" : [
             "Good afternoon"
          ],
          "evening" : [
              "Good evening"
          ]
      }

    • RE: Transparent glass in front of Acrylic Sheet to hold it together ?

      @pandeyprakhar00 Thanks. But in the video you are using a glass. I have an acrylic sheet which is slightly bigger than the monitor.
      The sheet is 18"x 24" and the monitor is 24" (which is 12.5" x 21.5 ").

      BTW: I did see your video and liked it. especially the dimensions and calculations with excel sheet…

    • Transparent glass in front of Acrylic Sheet to hold it together ?

      I am building a Smart mirror and have got an Acrylic see through mirror (18" x 24") and a 24 inch monitor. Everything is setup and now i want to build the frame (which is the hard part for me).
      I have a questions though about the frame and fitting all together. Do i need a transparent glass in front of the acrylic sheet when i have it all together ?
      How will it hold firm with a wooden frame in front ?
      Any help / suggestions appreciated.
